It covers various aspects including the definition and importance of forest sustainability, the role of carbon taxation in promoting sustainable forest management practices, and the use of carbon taxes as incentives for conservation, efficient wood utilization, and biochar production. The talk also addresses the specific context of forest management in ASEAN and East Asia, highlighting the need for tailored carbon taxation models, investment in technological advancements, and collaborative policy development among regional partners.

Special Seminar 'Innovating for a Greener Tomorrow: Carbon Markets and the Path to Sustainability' at Mahidol University

In this seminar, we adeptly outlined the critical role of global carbon markets in climate change mitigation and the pursuit of a sustainable future. Drawing upon the urgency underscored by the Paris Agreement's 1.5°C target, we provided an in-depth analysis of both compliance and voluntary markets, spotlighting emerging trends and carbon standards prevalent in Thailand and other Southeast Asian nations. As we navigated through various emission trading schemes, we emphasized the catalytic role of innovation and technology, highlighting potential pathways to net-zero emissions and decarbonization, thereby paving a robust roadmap for fostering a greener tomorrow.

Speaker, Panelist, and Mentor at the UNEP Green Jobs for the Future Seminar in Bangkok

In this two-day dynamic and collaborative workshop, participants embarked on a journey of deep exploration into the facets of green jobs and sustainable development. Formed into eight teams, they engaged in fruitful discussions to brainstorm innovative solutions to escalate green jobs, pinpoint vital skills for fostering sustainable development, and devised actionable plans to contribute to a greener future. Leveraging a structured approach, the workshop fostered individual reflection and group synergy, culminating in a presentation where teams showcased their prioritized answers and the rationale behind their selections.

Training Course on Benefit Cost Analysis of Agricultural Value Chains in Phnom Penh - Team Presentation

The CDRI-organized course from 19 to 21 June 2023 aimed to equip participants with a deep understanding of BCA's application in agriculture, with a focus on carbon credits and climate change mitigation. Through a combination of lectures and practical exercises, the course provided a holistic learning experience to enhance participants' knowledge and skills in this area.

Training Course on Benefit Cost Analysis of Agricultural Value Chains - Conventional vs Regenerative Farming

Regenerative farming is an approach to agriculture that focuses on restoring and improving the health of the soil, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience. It emphasizes practices that promote soil fertility, carbon sequestration, and sustainable farming systems. By using techniques such as cover cropping, crop rotation, and holistic grazing, regenerative farming aims to enhance ecosystem services, mitigate climate change, and support long-term agricultural productivity and profitability.
